Larksville Fire and Police were called to the scene of a fire at a vacant home at 419 Washington Street just after 3 this morning. There were no injuries but after an investigation it was determined to be arson.

According to an affidavit, police traced an online account that had uploaded a pornographic image of two boys to Austin Lee Heck of 203 Howard St., Larksville. Police searched Heck's home on Wednesday and seized his computer, a thumb drive and cell phone.

The search for a man officials say jumped into the Susquehanna River in Larksville Saturday night has been called off. Rescuers were called to the Carey Ave bridge and say the man was last seen near a pier in the river a short distance away then disappeared.

A millennial couple from Wilkes-Barre wants to provide a place where the local extreme sports community and those under 21 can have safe fun. Mikki St. Pierre and Jeffery Mushell plan to open Keystone Rampworks, an entertainment complex that would include an indoor park for skateboarders and BMX riders as well as a cafe that would host concerts and musical events.

Dealerships digging out ahead of expected surge in sales

Pat Del Balso was busy Wednesday afternoon guiding vehicles back onto his plowed sales lot on Market Street in Kingston after the cars were cleared of snow across the street. The dealership dig out at Del Balso Ford needed to be done as soon as possible to prepare for the surge in sales that often follows a big snowstorm, he said.

Judge signs off on county prison elevator repairs

A Luzerne County judge on Thursday signed off on allowing repairs to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility elevator involved in the deaths of an inmate and a correctional officer last year. Repairs have been on hold because a number of entities have filed petitions to preserve the condition of the elevator as it was when Correctional Officer Kristopher Moules, 25, of Larksville, and inmate Timothy D. Gilliam Jr., 27, of Wilkes-Barre, plummeted to their deaths July 18. County officials say the pair got into a struggle and burst through the closed elevator door, which gave way and allowed them to fall five stories.

Courtdale woman faces trial in fatal crash
